Terra Lana Wool/Polyester blend
+ Click to enlargeTerra Lana underfloor insulation is a carefully engineered mix of recycled wool and polyester, which is lofted and thermally bonded to produce an efficient user-friendly thermal insulation.
The insulation medium is adhered to a perforated foil substrate and is designed to insulate the underside of exposed timber floors.
It is made in a blanket form with a 50mm foil overlap on each edge allowing the insulation medium to fit snugly between the timber joists. The foil is stapled to the underside of the joist
Not only will Terra Lana Underfloor Insulation reduce the internal heat loss down through the floor it will greatly reduce the ingress of cold air from underneath.
Terra Lana Underfloor Insulation is manufactured in R values/widths/lengths to suit each situation.
Terra Lana Products Limited
Terra Lana takes its name from the Latin words terra, meaning earth, and lana, meaning wool.
The
name sums up Terra Lana's philosophy - to manufacture a range of the
highest quality building and household products from natural wool and
wool-based materials, leaving minimal impact on the environment.
From
its inception in 1999, Terra Lana has concentrated on the development
of ecologically-sound industrial and consumer products manufactured
from pre-consumer recycled textile fibres. These raw materials are
sourced from local spinning, knitting, textile and garment industries.
The Beauty of Wool
- A natural air conditioner - warm in the cold, cool in the heat
- Wool is a natural insulator, providing high performance for many years
- Wool reduces peak temperatures by 2-3ÂșC compared to mineral fibres
- Wool prevents rapid changes in temperature and humidity
- Good for your health
- Wool
absorbs pollutants. Homes with wool insulation absorb up to 1000 times
the usual amount of formaldehyde present in the house
- It takes 700% less energy to manufacture Terra Lana wool batting than the equivalent fibreglass insulation
- Safe to install
- Wool
is soft on skin. Terra Lana products are safe to install. They
require no protective clothing or special handling, even with repeated
exposure
- Wool is biodegradable and non-toxic. Unlike mineral
fibres, wool fibres are too large to be retained in the lungs. Any
fibres in the bronchial tree break down naturally to their base proteins
Marks of Quality
Terra
Lana utilises its own distinct technology developed in association with
Canesis (formerly WRONZ - the Wool Research Organisation of New
Zealand) to deliver unique natural benefits.
