Terra Lana takes its name from the Latin words terra, meaning earth, and lana, meaning wool.
The name sums up Terra Lana's philosophy - to manufacture a range of the highest quality building and household products from natural wool and wool-based materials, leaving minimal impact on the environment.
From its inception in 1999, Terra Lana has concentrated on the development of ecologically-sound industrial and consumer products manufactured from pre-consumer recycled textile fibres. These raw materials are sourced from local spinning, knitting, textile and garment industries.

- Wool is biodegradable and non-toxic. Unlike mineral fibres, wool fibres are too large to be retained in the lungs. Any fibres in the bronchial tree break down naturally to their base proteins
